Eighth Group Visit

For this visit the group chose two locations downstream of the Bourton Road Mill.

The first location was where the backwater re-joins the main river, here there were two large branches that had broken from the cracked willows either side of the main river. One had broken completely off and dropped down into the river spanning the entire width, the other had snapped but was still attached and hanging down into the river. If we had not removed these they would both root and grow into new trees possibly blocking the entire river.

The second location was slightly further downstream and again two willows had broken branches fallen across the river.

Both locations were holding back large sections of cut tree, logs and other organic matter from upstream.

Thank you to the team for the fantastic effort in clearing these two sections in under two hours.
